Guests can ask reception to call them
The iPad's 「フロントを呼び出す」 button. Off: only staff start contact (messages and calls to the iPad); the button disappears from every iPad within seconds.

Show guests the sound level
The iPad's dB reading, bar and limit, on the home screen and the night clock. Off: the iPad still measures, reminds guests when it's too loud and alerts staff; guests only see the quiet hours and that nothing is recorded.

Sound descriptors (research)
iPads also send, each second, the level in 8 frequency bands and a few numbers on the sound's shape (steady, tonal, beat, speech rhythm), for telling talk, music and street noise apart. No audio leaves the iPad. Uses more of the iPad's processor; iPads with an older app ignore it.

Simulated sound (demo)

For demos without an iPad in the room. The property gets an iPad, shown to staff like any other, that sends a sound level every second: the live view, graph, map, guest reminders and staff alerts react as they would to a real one. The company sees the change in its activity log. Turn it off after the demo.

Street: made up, or the street noise of a real listing on the same road (its iPad’s level, so both read the same with nobody in). In the room, on top: Quiet: nobody · Lively: busy, under the limit · Party: bass-heavy music over the limit (guest reminder, then a staff alert if left on).

Residents' sign-in SMS
